Baby girl album

Hi everyone!

Do you remember the album that I made from the scratch? Now it finally finished and waiting for a little baby girl to fill it with her pictures.

Ded Moroz or Santa Claus

Back to the USSR, where I was born, as a kid every New Year Eve (not Christmas) I was waiting for him!
Our Santa Claus is called Ded Moroz (or Grandpa Frost), he wears long blue (sometimes white with silver) coat, he has a long white beard and a big stick, that helps him to come in a huge snow. I would say, he looks a bit like Dumbledore from Harry Potter :). Our Ded Moroz doesn't have any Mrs. Claus, but he has a granddaughter - Snegurochka. They come in the NY Eve to every kid and bring them presents .

Now, when I live in the Netherlands, step by step I am getting used to new traditions and new rules. Now, there is Santa on my cards and, I believe, he will come to me for Christmas.

God works in mysterious ways.

What is the most difficult at starting a new hand made project?
For me, the most difficult is to catch inspiration. My inspiration can be out: eating, watching a movie or thinking of all the difficulties in the world, it is pretty busy, you know... So I often need to use special methods to call it back to do its job!
For example, this time I've got my inspiration back by this beautiful challenge for Inspired by all the little things.

But as soon as my inspiration is on its place I am able to create and create for hours. That is actually why I strongly believe in a great value of hand made anything.You have your inspiration, so you have a big, warm feeling inside, and you share it. You share not paper/ wool/ plastic/ metal something, but your warmth with the people who will get your unique product.
Isn't it worth it? ;)

And, yes, Christmas is coming....

Photo album from the scratch

Guys, let's watch the birth of a new photo album!

There are several ways how to make a photo album from the scratch. Among the scrapbookers are well known: an album on rings or ribbons, an album on a spring, an album sewn with a sewing machine etc. I tried to make some of them but it is always exciting to try new methods, isn't it? This new one I can totally recommend!!

Advantages of this kind of binding:
1. Everyone can do it!
2. You do not need any special devices (e.g. sewing machine), all you need is: paper (hard paper), pencil, ruler, knife (scissors), glue. Time and patience are vital!
3. In this kind of binding you get some space between sheets so you can easily add some volume elements, which is important in scrapbooking, right?

4. You can add as many sheets as you want, so you will not loose any picture.

Disadvantages of this kind of binding:
1. As soon as your album is attached to its cover you cannot add extra sheets inside.
2. It takes quite some time and you must be neat to get the great result.

I will look at how this type of binding will look like over the time and then maybe I add more pros and cons.
